width:16px;height:16px; margin: 0; padding: 0; border: none; box-shadow: none;\" src=\"https:\/\/jafma.net\/ana\/theweekendarchaeologist\/wp-content\/plugins\/social-media-feather\/synved-social\/image\/social\/regular\/32x32\/mail.png\" \/><\/a><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a id=\"spanish\"><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"#english\">[In English]<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Aqu\u00ed van algunos consejillos que suelo dar a mis alumnos cuando van a presentar sus TFGs\/TFMs, aunque creo que pueden servir para cualquier presentaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s o menos reglada que vayan a dar.\u00a0 <em>Disclaimer<\/em>: est\u00e1n basados en mi experiencia a los dos lados de la tarima, es decir, como ponente y como oyente, y como es mi experiencia, no todo el mundo tiene que estar de acuerdo, as\u00ed que al que no le gusten, que no los use \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ens\u00e1yala mucho (pero mucho, mucho) para ajustarte al tiempo que tienes, demo incluida. Cronom\u00e9trate para estar seguro de que cumples el tiempo, y si tienes a alguien a mano para <em>torturarlo<\/em> y ensayar con p\u00fablico, mejor.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Recuerda que la presentaci\u00f3n la tienes que hacer mirando al tribunal, no a la pantalla de proyecci\u00f3n.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">En la primera transparencia tienen que aparecer el t\u00edtulo del TFG\/TFM, titulaci\u00f3n, autor, y directores.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">La \u00faltima transparencia puede ser igual que la primera, y as\u00ed se queda como fondo elegante mientras el tribunal te pregunta.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Si el presidente del tribunal, al introducir el acto, lee en voz alta el t\u00edtulo del TFG\/TFM, tu nombre, etc. , no los repitas t\u00fa al empezar la exposici\u00f3n.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">La presentaci\u00f3n debe seguir el mismo orden de apartados de la memoria.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Procura que en las transparencias haya un \u00edndice visible en alguna parte (a la izquierda, o arriba del todo, peque\u00f1ito en ambos casos). As\u00ed el tribunal sabe en todo momento d\u00f3nde est\u00e1.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">No cargues mucho de texto las transparencias; pon la informaci\u00f3n b\u00e1sica imprescindible (im\u00e1genes incluidas), y el resto lo dices de viva voz.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">S\u00e9 astuto: para aquellos puntos que te resulten m\u00e1s complicados de memorizar o explicar, deja en la transparencia la informaci\u00f3n que te resulta dif\u00edcil. Vamos, que la transparencia sea como una chuleta (negar\u00e9 haber dicho esto ante un juez ;))<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cuidado con las animaciones, no se trata de que la presentaci\u00f3n sea una feria que agobie al tribunal.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Transparencias con fondo claro y letras oscuras, o con fondo oscuro y letras claras: como prefieras. Ten en cuenta, de todas formas, d\u00f3nde vas a leer (Sala de Grado, aula, etc.). Quiz\u00e1s sea m\u00e1s seguro usar la primera opci\u00f3n, que suele dar menos problemas en todas las situaciones.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Si durante la presentaci\u00f3n muestras alg\u00fan v\u00eddeo de los resultados de tu trabajo, debes hablar mientras se est\u00e1 reproduciendo, por ejemplo comentando aspectos importantes del mismo o c\u00f3mo se corroboran los resultados te\u00f3ricos alcanzados. Lo m\u00e1s importante es no quedarse callado mientras el v\u00eddeo est\u00e1 corriendo.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Es muy normal que el tribunal est\u00e9 tomando notas mientras est\u00e9s hablando. No te agobies pensando que est\u00e1n anotando fallos. Lo m\u00e1s normal es que est\u00e9n recogiendo algunas\u00a0dudas que les surjan\u00a0durante tu exposici\u00f3n para acordarse de pregunt\u00e1rtelas despu\u00e9s (y posiblemente no te las pregunten todas). Y tambi\u00e9n puede ser que est\u00e9n anotando las cosas que les han gustado para felicitarte por tu trabajo\u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Durante la presentaci\u00f3n, si te pones nervioso (todos nos ponemos nerviosos, no pasa nada), ten a mano una botellita de agua. Si es botella grande, aseg\u00farate de tener tambi\u00e9n un vaso.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Finaliza la presentaci\u00f3n dando las gracias al tribunal e indicando que quedas a su disposici\u00f3n para el turno de preguntas.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Deja que los miembros del tribunal acaben de formular sus preguntas sin interrumpirlos (incluso aunque est\u00e9s deseando contestar porque te requetesabes la respuesta :))<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lleva siempre una copia de seguridad de la presentaci\u00f3n en un pendrive, <em>porsiaca<\/em> \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a id=\"english\"><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"#spanish\">[En espa\u00f1ol]<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Here you can find some little tricks I usually give to my students when the moment comes to defend their Bachelor or Master thesis, though I think they could be useful in any formal presentation. Disclaimer: they are based on my experience on both sides of the story, that is, as speaker and as listener; since it is my own experience, not everybody will agree, so if you do not like them, simply do not use them \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Rehearse a lot (I mean it, a lot), including a real demo of your work in case you also show it. Measure exactly how long it takes you to deliver the presentation; it would be great if you can find someone you can <em>torture<\/em> and rehearse with public.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Remember that you have to deliver your presentation looking at the committee, not to the projection screen.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The first slide should include the title of your Bachelor\/Master thesis, the degree\/master program, the author and the advisors.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The last slide could be exactly like the first one, so you have a nice background while the examiners ask their questions.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Your presentation should follow the same outline that the written dissertation report.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">If the president of the committee reads aloud the title of your thesis, your name, etc. do not repeat them again when you begin to talk.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">You should keep an index on the slides (tiny, on the left or at the top), so the committee can keep track of which point of your dissertation you are talking of.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Do not text-overload the slides; show only the basic essential information (including images), and explain the supplementary information aloud.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Be smart: those points of your presentation that are difficult to remember or explain should be written in your slides. To cut a long story short, the slides should be your cheat sheet (I will deny to have said this in a court ;))<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Be careful with the animation of your slides: you don&#8217;t want to overwhelm the committee with a lot of special effects.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Design your slides with light background and dark fonts, or dark background and light fonts, as you wish. Anyway, you should consider the location where you are going to deliver your presentation.\u00a0Maybe it is safer to choose the first option, that usually adapts to the lightning conditions of every place.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">If you include a video showing\u00a0the results of your work, you should talk while the video is playing; for example, you can comment the most relevant points of the video, or how\u00a0your theoretical results are confirmed. The key point is not to be in silence while the\u00a0video is still\u00a0playing.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is quite common that the committee jots some things\u00a0down while you are talking. Do not get stressed thinking that they are recording your fails. They usually are gathering some notes about the doubts that arise during your dissertation, so they can remember them properly (and perhaps they do not ask all of those doubts). They also could be writing down those things they have liked the most of your work, so they can congratulate you for your achievements \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">If you are nervous during dissertation (it&#8217;s ok, we all get nervous in those situations), get a little bottle of water.
